Oh come on, you can't dangle that in front of me and not expect me to ask! [ she's like a teenager sometimes. just forgive her. ] I just want to know if he's going to be good to you. Friends are allowed that much.

I hardly dangled it. [ She'd answered the question, there was a difference. But she gave a nod ] He will be. [ And if not? Helen could handle it ]

[ siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh. she'll let it go for now. ]

[ Helen paused in thought, lightly tapping her nail on the side of her glass ]

Never have I ever [ She wanted to make this one good ] listened to an old woman blather about her life.

[ And there's a slight challenging look that dares Jenna not to drink. She's beginning to feel more honest, more so from the trust she has in Jenna but a little from the wine. And if Jenna didn't take it then? She'd let her ask another time ]

[ jenna just gives her a disbelieving look. ]

Oh come on. You can't expect me to drink for that. You can't be any older than my sister.

I can't? [ There's that cheeky expression again ] Unless your sister is over three centuries old, and from what you've mentioned I know her not to be, I do believe that you should drink.

[ it's a good thing jenna's used to the idea of vampires or she'd be a little freaked out. as it is, she just grins and takes that sip. ]

You're not a vampire or you would have mentioned something when we had the vervain talk. So, what... how is that possible? [ she's honestly curious! she's had almost a year to get used to the idea of strange things and she wants to know what strange things helen's world holds. ]

I'm not. I am still human. [ Human abnormal, really. Technicalities and classifications ahoy ]

I possess an abnormality- ability known as longevity. Extended life, simply put.

[ The how? Is a far longer story, one she'll gloss over ]

Huh... Wow...

[ she's not particularly worried, upset, or shocked at this. she's interested, curious... but she won't pry for more than helen's willing to give her. ]

Never have I ever, before tonight, known that a human could be older than Stefan.

[ And the half temptation not to drink is there again but she's playing fair. So she does ] How old is he?

I'm not sure exactly, but he wasn't much older than like... a hundred and fifty-something. He was one of the original founders of Mystic Falls - or the son of one of them - in 1864.

[longaevus]

I was born in 1850. [ Which didn't actually tell Jenna why she was as old as she was either - her story was as long as her years ] London. [ That part was obvious ]

Wow. Can't say I've ever be aware of knowing someone like that before. It's kind of cool.

[ in a weird way. the wine's starting to make her a little loopy, but it's a nice buzzed feeling. ]

[ Helen gave a small smile to it, letting Jenna keep that thought (she didn't need to know it all) ]

Never have I ever known someone take knowing that fact so well. [ Jenna may have had the advantage of knowing of vampires in her world but even those in her world whom were familiar with abnormals? Didn't always react so calmly ]

[ jenna's eyebrows shoot up as she takes another sip... more like a gulp, but eh. ]

What, do they usually freak out about it?

[ after the vampire talks and knowing what she knows about elena's parents and the gilberts and the whole mystic falls vampire crap... and then spending a year in taxon? jenna's getting used to weird things happening. ]

[longaevus]

I can't quite decide whether 'freak out' is a little exaggerated or entirely true. I suppose it depends on quite whom I've told. [ Which was a very small number - through the need for privacy on herself and her work but also because of not wishing to hear those reactions. Enough was enough ]

[ jenna gives a small laugh, leaning on her arm and the chair's arm. ]

Yeah, some people take things better than others. [ beat. ] When Elena told me about vampires, I didn't take it well, but after almost a year here? I think I can handle a lot more now.

[longaevus]

I was surprised myself when I found out about it, although vampires were a little further down the line. [ And thankfully she'd had a guiding hand into that world ]

I've never regretted knowing about it.

[secretshame]

Yeah, I just wish I'd known sooner.

[ it's time for her to frown at her glass for a second, like it's done her some horrible misdeed. ]

Okay, either this is some strong wine or we've been at this a while... or we've been making each other drink a lot.

[ guess who's starting to feel it? this one. ]

The latter. [ Although when Helen turned her head to look at the clock? It had been a little while also ]

It's probably a good idea to stop. [ As for Helen she knows that it's there but even with her consumption? She's still got a little while to go before it really affects her ]

And just when we were getting started. [ teasing. ] It was a really good way to pass the time, even if you're not showing it as much as I am. [ more teasing. ]

[longaevus]

I've had a longer time to build up a tolerance. [ Which was true, but only part of the explanation. Having a vampire for a college buddy and vampiric properties in your blood... well ]

[secretshame]

[ jenna just gives her a look like "are you sure that's all it is?" before downing the rest of her glass. ]

Either way, this was the best game I've had in a long time. Thanks for playing. [ she pauses for a moment, her grin fading just a little in the wake of alcohol induced seriousness... and the attempt at regrouping the brain power needed for such seriousness. ]

[ Helen ignores that look, knowing exactly what Jenna was asking. She may have told her a big truth but she wasn't going to tell her everything with it ]

[ another time, another day. jenna won't pry. she will, however, rub her temple a little. ]

I think I'm gonna just hang out here for a bit, until this buzz wears off. That was definitely the most I've had to drink so quickly in a really long time. It's a good thing Kelly's not here or she'd be making fun of me.
